Memorial of Alamana battle

It is the place where Athanasios Diakos along with his comrades heroically died, killed by the Turkish hordes led by Homer Vrionis on April, 22 1822 on the bridge bearing his name. The next day Athanasios Diakos who was injured was taken to Lamia where he suffered a tormenting death. Along the National Highway we find Diakos Memorial built in honor of the Alamana Battle.
